A place to learn together, share perspectives and build lasting connections.
DIDAR brings people together through learning, cultural activities and practical community support. We create welcoming spaces to participate, exchange knowledge and find your way to useful resources—without replacing professional services.
Who we are
DIDAR is a Montréal-based cultural, educational and community initiative. Our work helps people strengthen their networks, learn new skills, take part in community life and find practical ways forward.
We bring people across cultures and generations together for conversations, learning, arts and mutual support. When a situation calls for specialized help, we connect people with qualified resources rather than taking the place of professionals.
Our story
DIDAR grew out of community support in Montréal. Again and again, people were dealing with unfamiliar systems, unclear processes or difficult situations—not always because help was unavailable, but because it was hard to know where to turn.
What began as one-to-one support gradually became a wider network of mentoring, referrals, practical accompaniment, cultural gatherings and mutual aid. DIDAR gives that shared experience room to grow.

Community navigation & support
Sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to start—who to contact, what to ask, or how to navigate a system you haven’t used before.
DIDAR can help you explore options, make connections and prepare for next steps. Depending on the situation and available volunteers, we may also provide practical accompaniment.

Where possible, support with appointments, communications or unfamiliar processes, including finding an appropriate professional or service when concerns involve harassment, discrimination or violence.
Connections and guidance for newcomers, students and researchers: finding mentors, navigating institutions, study support, CV preparation, job searching and professional networks.
Creating connections so people can offer each other skills, experience or useful items—from tutoring and moving help to second-hand goods, peer advice and local information.
Our scope: DIDAR provides community information, referrals, connection and accompaniment. We do not offer regulated legal, immigration, medical, counselling or social-work services. Where specialized advice is needed, we can help identify an appropriate qualified resource.
Who is DIDAR for?
Our activities welcome people who want to connect, learn, contribute or find their footing in Montréal. Specific workshops may have their own intended audiences.
What we’re building
